Björnson is located in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, with estate vineyards farmed sustainably and with long-term stewardship in mind. Their Eola-Amity Hills estate is certified Salmon-Safe and L.I.V.E. (Low Input Viticulture and Enology), while Pamar Vineyard lies in the Van Duzer Corridor, one of the region’s newest AVAs. Across both sites, Björnson practices regenerative farming, using solar energy, permanent cover crops, and preserved riparian areas to protect the surrounding ecosystem. In the cellar, wines are made with minimal handling to allow each site’s character to shine through.
The fruit for this wine comes from Pamar Vineyard’s Tom’s Block in the Van Duzer Corridor. Here, strong coastal winds, cooler growing conditions, and a mix of marine sediment and volcanic soils yield wines with notable intensity, structure, and freshness. This Aligoté is subtle and expressive, showing crushed-stone minerality alongside notes of meringue, orange blossom, and lemon zest. The palate is soft and velvety, with vibrant acidity and a mineral-driven finish that lingers gracefully.
Aligoté, a sibling of chardonnay and auxerrois, is often referred to as the “other” white grape of Burgundy. For this bottling, grapes were hand-harvested and whole-cluster pressed, with the juice cold-settled before fermentation. The wine was aged for three months sur lie in neutral barrels, without malolactic conversion, and naturally cold stabilized prior to bottling.
