El Enemigo Cabernet Franc 2021
This expressive Cabernet Franc from Mendoza shows a deep ruby hue with hints of violet. Aromas of ripe plum, raspberry, cassis, and currant mingle with notes of black pepper, clove, and tobacco. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and beautifully balanced—supple tannins, fresh acidity, and flavors of cedar and vanilla carry through to a long, graceful finish.
El Enemigo is crafted at BESA in Vista Flores, Tunuyán—an estate set in the high-altitude foothills of the Andes, where cool mountain air and rocky soils shape wines of elegance and structure.
The project unites two remarkable minds: Alejandro Vigil, celebrated winemaker and soil expert who also serves as Chief Winemaker at Catena Zapata, and Adrianna Catena, historian and daughter of Nicolás Catena. Together, they create wines that bridge Argentina’s winemaking heritage with a spirit of intellectual curiosity and artistry.
