The Mise 2024 is skin-macerated white (orange wine) from Common Wealth Crush Co., a collaborative custom crush and incubator winery based in the Shenandoah Valley. The name Mise nods to the French concept mise en place, reflecting the wine’s playful, process-driven spirit. The 2024 blend is anchored by petit manseng, with chenin blanc, vidal blanc, sauvignon blanc, and chardonel rounding out the mix, all sourced from vineyards across central and northern Virginia. Partial skin contact brings texture, structure, and a gentle tannic grip, while a portion of direct-press juice keeps the wine fresh, aromatic, and highly drinkable.
Common Wealth Crush Co. was founded in 2022 as Virginia’s first winery of its kind, functioning as a shared production space, incubator, and creative hub for independent winemakers. The project is built around collaboration and low-intervention practices, offering access to equipment, expertise, and community for small producers.
