Domaine Berry-Althoff Menhir 2023

Domaine Berry-Althoff Menhir 2023 comes from a small, organically and biodynamically farmed estate in the Languedoc village of Aubais in southern France. Founded in 2015 by winemaking partners Imogen Berry and Robin Althoff, the domaine embodies a modern natural-wine philosophy rooted in respect for terroir and minimal intervention. Together they farm roughly 10 hectares under Demeter biodynamic certification, often working with old-vine grenache and other traditional Mediterranean grapes. Their wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, have very low added sulfur, and are crafted to express the unique limestone soils and warm Gard climate of their vineyards.

Menhir 2023 captures grenache in a particularly transparent, terroir-driven style, shaped by limestone soils and a gentle extraction that emphasizes finesse over power. The wine opens with lifted red berry aromas and subtle savory notes, leading into a palate that is light on its feet yet quietly complex, with bright acidity, delicate tannins, and a clean, stony finish.
