Benito Ferrara is one of the benchmark producers of Greco di Tufo, a family estate founded in the late nineteenth century in the village of Tufo, the historic heart of the appellation in Campania. Today the winery is led by Gabriella Ferrara, who has continued her family's dedication to showcasing the remarkable potential of greco. By focusing on estate vineyards and meticulous winemaking, Benito Ferrara has helped establish Greco di Tufo as one of Italy's greatest white wines, prized for its combination of power, freshness, and unmistakable minerality.

The estate farms vineyards in Tufo and neighboring Petruro Irpino, where vines grow at elevations of around 500 meters on clay limestone soils rich in sulfur bearing minerals. These distinctive soils give the wines their signature tension and mineral depth. Vineyard work emphasizes careful canopy management, moderate yields, and hand harvesting, while the cellar relies on gentle pressing, protection from oxygen, and extended aging on the fine lees to build texture without sacrificing freshness.

Greco di Tufo d'Uva 2024, also known as Terra d'Uva, is made from 100 percent greco sourced from multiple estate vineyards with vines ranging from 3 to 50 years of age. After a soft pressing, the juice is clarified through natural settling before fermenting in stainless steel. The wine spends four to seven months aging on its fine lees with regular stirring, followed by one to two months of bottle aging prior to release. This patient approach enhances both texture and complexity while preserving the grape's vibrant character.

The 2024 vintage is bright, energetic, and beautifully balanced. Aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, citrus zest, and stone fruit are layered with hints of fennel, wet stone, and the variety's hallmark note of bitter almond. The palate is dry and structured with lively acidity, a broad, textural mouthfeel, and a long, saline mineral finish that makes it an exceptional partner for oysters, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pastas, and fresh mozzarella.
