Giuseppe Cortese Langhe Nebbiolo 2022 comes from one of Barbaresco's most respected family estates. Founded by Giuseppe Cortese in 1971 and now run by his son Pier Carlo Cortese, the winery is best known for its exceptional holdings in the renowned Rabajà cru. Farming is traditional and meticulous, with a focus on expressing the character of the vineyard through restrained winemaking and long aging rather than extraction or heavy oak.

Made from 100% nebbiolo, the fruit is sourced from the estate's younger vines in and around the Rabajà vineyard. After hand harvesting, the grapes undergo an extended fermentation and skin maceration before aging for twelve months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by additional bottle aging. This approach preserves nebbiolo's aromatic purity while softening its naturally firm tannins.

The 2022 vintage offers aromas of dried rose, red cherry, plum, raspberry, cola, and sweet spice, with hints of leather and earth emerging with air. Medium bodied and beautifully balanced, it combines vibrant acidity with refined tannins and a long, savory finish. While approachable in its youth, it captures the elegance and structure that have made Giuseppe Cortese one of the benchmark producers of Barbaresco.
