Diletta Tonello io Teti Lessini Durello Metodo Classico 2021 comes from the volcanic hills of the Monti Lessini in Veneto, where Diletta Tonello has become a leading voice for durella and for the region more broadly. Working alongside her father, she has pushed the estate toward organic farming and a more focused identity around traditional method sparkling wines, helping elevate a category that has long sat quietly next to more famous Italian appellations.
The wine is made from 100 percent durella, a native variety known for its naturally high acidity and firm structure. Fruit is hand harvested and gently pressed, with fermentation in stainless steel before the base wine rests through the winter. The second fermentation takes place in bottle, followed by around 36 months on the lees, building texture and depth without relying on dosage or heavy cellar intervention.
The volcanic soils of the Lessini foothills play a central role here, giving the wine a persistent mineral edge and reinforcing durella’s naturally driven profile. The approach is traditional but deliberate, aimed at showing that this grape and this place can produce structured, long lived sparkling wines with clarity rather than excess weight.
A focused, site driven metodo classico that reflects both Tonello’s modern direction and the underlying character of durella.
