Château de Trinquevedel Tavel Rosé 2025 comes from one of the most historic estates in Tavel, the Southern Rhône appellation that is unique in being dedicated entirely to rosé wine. The Demoulin family acquired the property in 1936, the same year Tavel was granted appellation status, and has stewarded the estate for nearly a century. Situated on the right bank of the Rhône River, the vineyards are planted on a mosaic of sandy soils, clay, limestone, and the galets roulés, or rounded stones, that are characteristic of many of the Rhône Valley's finest sites. These varied soils contribute both richness and freshness, helping Tavel stand apart from lighter Provençal rosés.

The 2025 vintage is a traditional Tavel blend built around grenache, with supporting roles from cinsault, clairette, syrah, and mourvèdre. Rather than pursuing the pale, delicate style that dominates much of today's rosé market, Château de Trinquevedel remains committed to the historic Tavel model: a rosé with substance, complexity, and the ability to pair with a wide range of foods. The combination of red and white varieties contributes layers of fruit, texture, floral character, and structure.

After hand harvesting, the grapes undergo a combination of direct pressing and short maceration to achieve Tavel's signature deep pink hue and fuller body. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. The wine is then aged in tank for several months before bottling, allowing the various components of the blend to harmonize while maintaining vibrant fruit and acidity. Oak is generally not used, keeping the focus squarely on vineyard character and varietal expression.

In the glass, the 2025 offers aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, watermelon, blood orange, and rose petal, accompanied by hints of spice and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is broader and more textured than many rosés, with concentrated fruit balanced by bright acidity and a subtle mineral streak. While enjoyable on release, Trinquevedel often develops additional complexity over several years, a trait that has long distinguished the best examples of Tavel.

This is a rosé that excels at the table. Its combination of fruit, structure, and freshness allows it to pair with everything from grilled salmon and tuna to roast chicken, Provençal vegetables, charcuterie, and even lightly spiced dishes. For many wine lovers, Château de Trinquevedel remains one of the classic expressions of Tavel, showcasing a style of rosé that is serious, ageworthy, and unmistakably Rhône in character.
