Christina Kuhlbar Chillable Red 2024 comes from the Austrian project of Christina Netzl, a winemaker working in the Carnuntum region east of Vienna. After studying enology and wine management abroad, Netzl returned to her family’s vineyards and gradually shifted the estate toward organic farming and lower intervention winemaking. Her wines tend to emphasize freshness, drinkability, and transparency rather than polish or heavy extraction.

Kühlbar was designed as an easygoing, lightly structured red intended to be served with a chill. The 2024 is built primarily from zweigelt, though some bottlings also include small amounts of blaufränkisch and other local varieties depending on the blend. Fruit comes from estate vineyards planted on loess soils, where warm Pannonian conditions are balanced by cooler air moving through the region.

The winemaking is intentionally straightforward and freshness focused. Portions of the fruit are direct pressed while others see short skin maceration or partial whole cluster fermentation before aging in stainless steel. The wine is bottled unfiltered with minimal intervention and no significant oak influence.

The resulting style leans toward bright red fruit, lively acidity, and gentle structure rather than concentration or tannin. It fits within the broader modern trend of lighter “chillable reds,” though Netzl’s version stays grounded in clean farming and balance rather than overt natural wine character.
