Bojo do Luar Brut Luiza Pet Nat Rosé 2025 comes from the Bojo do Luar project in Portugal's Vinho Verde region, where winemaker Nuno Oliveira is dedicated to reviving traditional Portuguese winemaking through biodynamic farming, native fermentations, amphora aging, and minimal intervention. Rather than producing polished, conventional wines, Bojo do Luar embraces ancestral techniques and indigenous grape varieties, creating vibrant wines that capture the energy and history of the region.
The 2025 Luiza is a blend of 80% espadeiro and 20% loureiro sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards near Felgueiras. The espadeiro undergoes a spontaneous fermentation in century old clay amphorae after being foot trodden, with ground chestnut flowers added as a traditional natural stabilizer. Before fermentation is complete, the wine is pressed, blended with loureiro, and bottled to finish fermentation naturally, creating its gentle sparkle through the ancestral pét nat method. The wine is bottled unfiltered with only a minimal addition of sulfur.
The 2025 is lively and refreshing, offering aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, pink grapefruit, citrus zest, and delicate floral notes. Fine bubbles, bright acidity, and a touch of gentle funk give the wine both charm and complexity, while a subtle mineral finish keeps it crisp and highly drinkable. Light in alcohol and bursting with energy, it is an ideal aperitif and a perfect companion to oysters, ceviche, charcuterie, soft cheeses, and warm afternoons on the patio.
