Rene Geoffroy is a historic grower from the Vallée de la Marne, with winemaking roots in Cumières dating back to the 17th century. Today, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy and his father farm 14 hectares, mostly in Cumières, with additional parcels in Damery, Hautvillers, Dizy, and Fleury-la-Rivière. The vines average 20 years of age, with the oldest dating back to 1926, and the family farms sustainably through cover crops, soil tilling, and natural pest control.
Their signature Champagne is a classic blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, built on a perpetual reserve that reaches back to 1970 — one of the oldest in Champagne. Geoffroy vinifies in oak barrels for their top cuvées, avoids malolactic fermentation for tension and longevity, and remains devoted to expressing the nerve and elegance of Cumières.
