Damien Martin is a family owned domaine based in the Mâconnais, in the heart of southern Burgundy. The Martin family has been farming vineyards in the region for generations, with a focus on expressing the character of each appellation through careful vineyard work and restrained winemaking. Their philosophy is rooted in sustainable viticulture, low intervention practices, and preserving freshness and site expression rather than emphasizing heavy oak or winemaking influence. The goal is to produce wines that clearly reflect the limestone rich terroirs that make the region one of Burgundy's great sources of value.

The 2024 Pouilly Fuissé is made entirely from chardonnay grown on the appellation's classic clay and limestone soils surrounding the villages of Fuissé, Solutré Pouilly, Vergisson, and Chaintré. The fruit is harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified with an emphasis on preserving purity and balance. Fermentation and aging are carried out with judicious use of oak, allowing texture and complexity to develop while maintaining the bright fruit and mineral character that define the appellation.

The 2024 vintage in Burgundy was challenging, marked by spring rain, disease pressure, and lower yields. However, a favorable finish to the growing season allowed producers to harvest healthy fruit with excellent freshness and aromatic precision. Wines from the vintage tend to show vibrant acidity, moderate alcohol levels, and a balance of ripeness and energy that many growers consider highly promising.

In the glass, Damien Martin's Pouilly Fuissé offers aromas of white flowers, citrus, and orchard fruit layered with notes of almond, hazelnut, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is round and generous without feeling heavy, supported by refreshing acidity and a distinct mineral backbone. Flavors of lemon, ripe pear, and stone fruit carry through a long, elegant finish marked by subtle nutty and chalky notes. It is a versatile white Burgundy that pairs beautifully with shellfish, roast chicken, creamy sauces, and richer fish preparations.
