From the importer: In 2000 Jeremy and Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac launched a venture that redefined the role of the négociant in Burgundy. Under the name Dujac Fils et Père, the son/father team established partnerships with some of the top growers in Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. The resulting wines are made with the same care and attention the family lavishes on their estate bottlings.
This pinot noir comes from a patchwork of vineyards totaling nearly 33 hectares, drawn from a village rich in celebrated terroirs: five Grand Cru sites, twenty Premier Cru climats, and twenty-six named lieux-dits. While the Grand Cru parcels are devoted exclusively to red grapes, the Premier Cru and village-level vineyards cultivate both red and white. The winery works with purchased fruit, with exact holdings varying by vintage.
The wine is grown on classic clay-and-limestone soils and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. It then ages for 14–15 months in a mix of one- to three-year-old French barriques before being bottled without fining or filtration. The result is a pure, terroir-driven expression of pinot noir.
