The wines of Henri & Gilles Buisson are some of the most exciting bottles coming out of Saint-Romain, a village that remains surprisingly under the radar. Nestled just west of the famed vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, Saint-Romain’s steep slopes and cooler climate give its grapes a longer, slower ripening period — resulting in white wines with remarkable depth, precision, and lift.
The Buisson family has called Saint-Romain home since the 12th century, but it was Henri and Marguerite who began bottling under their own name after World War II. Their son Gilles pushed the farming forward in the 1970s with an early commitment to organics, and by 2009 the domaine earned Ecocert certification. Today, brothers Franck and Frédérick carry on that vision, crafting wines that are vibrant, expressive, and consistently impressive.
